Citrix Freezing/ Latency Issue

Hi,

So I have recently starting working from home for a new company which uses Citrix as a kind of Remote Desktop. Whenever I try to log into Citrix it completely freezes and will not respond then occasionally throw up an error message stating “network data corrupted”. After speaking to my works IT the only issue they can find is that my latency is showing all the way up at 16,000ms where as regular users are getting around 50ms.

The part that gets more confusing is that I have called VM directly and they apparently cannot find any faults on my side and I have also ran a speed check on the same computer that I am using for work and it’s showing my speeds are normal with a low latency (image attached). So for whatever reason despite my computer showing low latency my work are detecting a high one when I am connected to Citrix.

Has anyone got any clue as to what could be causing this as it is completely prohibiting me from working.

Hi Rossfelvus72,

I have used a hub 4 in both router and modem modes for the last couple of years and not had any issues connecting to Citrix.

Don't forget that Fast.com and other speed testers will find the server closest to you, or that has the lowest ping to test against whereas your Citrix edge/broker servers may be located in a fixed location much further away.

If you have a corporate VPN that allows you to select which geographical region to connect to, try changing to a different geo to see if that makes a difference.

If you have a work mobile (or lots of data on a personal mobile) try using it as a hotspot and see if you have the same speed issues....or try from the local Costa/Starbucks...
