Since I’ve had broadband and up to the end of January I was getting good download speeds on my Wi-Fi of around 265 mbps but then suddenly the speeds have dropped at the beginning of February to around 83mbps which I don't understand as I am paying for the fast broadband 250 mbps so what’s going on?

If this had been described as an Ethernet connection a faulty network cable would have been the most likely cause of de-rating the link from 1000 to 100Mb/s.

For WiFi it is harder to answer without knowing what has changed in the environment.
