Broadband Speed Dropped over the past week or so

I am currently on the 350mbps package and was fairly happy with the speeds I was getting a few months ago, I was generally getting around the speed I should be and sometimes more.  However, the last week or so the speed has dropped.  Not enough to be unusable but almost as bad as downgrading to the next tier down.  I am currently averaging 180-250mbit.

Re: Broadband Speed Dropped over the past week or so

All of your upstream channels are out of spec (16 QAM when they should be 64 QAM):

4393999834.925512016 qam2

Power levels are also quite high.

VM need to investigate further.

Re: Broadband Speed Dropped over the past week or so

Hi NMJToolbox,

Thanks for posting, and sorry to hear you're getting some slow speeds.

Can you confirm if this is on a wired or wireless connection?

I can also see it's been a few days since your last reboot, if you can please do this for me and I'll check the hubs levels again.

Re: Broadband Speed Dropped over the past week or so

Hi Alex,

This is both wired and wireless.  The stats posted above were immediately after a reboot - no change.

Thanks for confirming 🙂

I appreciate the hub was rebooted on Saturday, but if you could please reboot today also so we can see if there is any change in the hubs levels.

Re: Broadband Speed Dropped over the past week or so

Can you set up a Broadband Quality Monitor (BQM) at thinkbroadband.com - this will give you an insight into what is happening with the signal at the other side of the Hub, it will take a few hours to get any kind of trend showing although you should post the link straight away.

Post a link to your BQM on here.

Instructions for posting BQM Link

Under your BQM graph are two links in red.

Click the lower link (Share Live Graph) then click generate.

Copy the text in the Direct Link box, beware, there may be more text than you can see.

On here click the Link icon (2 links chain to the left of the camera icon)

In the URL box paste the link you copied and in the ‘text to display’ box write My BQM then click OK - you can post the link straight away.

Re: Broadband Speed Dropped over the past week or so

The BQM for me (superhub in modem mode with synology 2600AC router) seems a bit tempremental.  It was fine until last saturday and then the BQM went completely red as though the BQM could not get ping responses.  I have no idea why as I have not changed anything.  Anyway, here is a link to BQM:

Re: Broadband Speed Dropped over the past week or so

Your WAN IP may have changed, check the IP on the BQM against the current IP.

Check your router settings for ICMP permissions, the router may have updated in the background.

Re: Broadband Speed Dropped over the past week or so

WAN IP is correct on BQM, Synology firewall ICMP is set to allow on all ports from all IPs.
