Bandwidth throttled again

Back in the same boat as a month ago with incredibly slow broadband speeds, have done a broadband monitor graph as below, any ideas we have never had Virgin resolve it yet....

VM do not throttle your connection.

It's a terrible BQM, which could be any number of things:

  • HUB stats out of spec.
  • Noisy line.
  • Congestion

Looking at your previous post you appear to have a large number of errors in your network log in a short period of time.

Did you ever get an engineer visit?

Re: Bandwidth throttled again

Had one booked when it seemed to fix itself on New Year's Day back up to full speed so they cancelled and has been fine since, this has happened in the last couple of days so I think an engineer is needed just have to try to get through to Virgin again and book another one which is not easy in lockdown but will try.  Thanks

Re: Bandwidth throttled again

I don't know what is affecting our speeds but at the moment it is just awful and un-useable, I work from home and this is going to cause me a lot of stress until it is fixed I may have to risk going into the office to work if I cannot work normally due to such slow speeds... any ideas would be helpful, we are trying to get an engineer but having had the phone put down 3 times while waiting on hold am trying again tomorrow.

It seems when we re-set the hub we get proper speeds back and you can literally see it slow down in a matter of less than a minute to less than 1meg ....

Mistifies me and Virgin have been less than helpful so far...
