I have vivid 350 - for months I have poor speed and range. Speed test using Speedtest.net Showa 60 hard wired and 40 WiFi on laptop. On iphone and iPad 90-100. Tech came into the house used fast.com which on my same iPad and iPhone says 140 but on his pda shows 300 so says no fault. Has anyone any experience of fast.com. Most forums say it is no good for speed test
Use speedtest.net to a VM server To test properly put the Hub into mode and connect a gigabit enabled pc/laptop (yours does have a 1Gb port?) by Cat5e/6 cable and see what that gets on a browser you dont normally use. Dont rely on wifi speed tests, For example, my Macbook Air and iPhone7 both get 220mbps on my Vivid200 wifi connection - but only when I put them onto the 5GHz network. Sat in the same spot if I then flick them over to the 2.4GHz network, they max out at 70-80mbps - it's just the limitations of the technology!

OK - redo it with the laptop booted into safe+networking mode - that will take out all software on your laptop that could be limiting speeds. As the techy was getting 300 (unless something has changed) you should get that too. If it doesnt get it in safe mode with a Cat5e/6 cable and the Hub in modem mode - I would question whether your laptop actually has a 1Gb port - are you sure its not just a 10/100 one - or set to that range ? What make/model of laptop & network card does it have ?
A few recent posts from on here on what might limit speeds.....
Thanks I will check these out, he was getting 300 on fast.com but on speed test.net only 100 but said the fast.com proved all was ok . My research shows fast.com has history of showing speeds almost double of other speed test sites and people say it is no good. Do you have a view of this
