Hi,
I have been having issues with ping being very sparatic and speeds being slow. I have done the occasional speedtest and various other tests and occasionally the speed would be low but the device was said to be fine so I didn't think too much of it.
I initially thought the ping and speed dipping was due to congestion/too many devices connected so I optted to buy another router that should be able to handle a lot more than the current virgin media router (Hub 3). It has solved a lot of the WI-FI issue that I have had although other issues remain. This doesn't solve the ping issue and it jumps from 30ish on various services to over 150 in quick succession.
I now decided that I'd set up a speedtest to run every hour and for the past 2 days my average download speed has been 160mb when I am paying for 500mb. This is absurd that it is so low and has been an issue more or less since we got it. I only now decided to actually test to see what exactly is happening. The average upload is around 31, which is more reasonable although, very frequently, dips to 10-15, which is way lower than it should be.
On top of this the ping issue has made a vareity of online games unplayable. The constant changes in ping (tested on multiple devices) means the game freezes or suddently gets slow, disconnects, losing packets etc. I've handled some of these issue occuring every once in a while but they have gotten more frequent and I can't really play online realiably anymore so something needs to be done.
This is mainly used on a wired connection using different desktop PCs and the HUB 3. In reply's to this message, I have posted downstream, upstream etc. and the speedtest numbers over the past couple days.
