Are my speeds correct for package ?

Hi, i have never noticed any issues before but as i have been working from home over the past few weeks i have experience a short down times and wanted to understand if the speed i pay for is what i am receiving. I am on a Hub 3 and 350mb broadband as part of my package. The hub is modem only and a asus router u66 used for the last 3 years. Using speedtest app on my phone x i get:

2.4ghz - 80mbps down and 23 up

5.0ghz - 104mbps down and 24 up

I have reset the modem and router and place both on channels instead of auto selecting. Is there anything else i can do? Many thanks

Re: Are my speeds correct for package ?

you need to test wired. VM don't guarantee wireless speeds

Re: Are my speeds correct for package ?

What speeds do you get wired direct to the hub without the ASUS router?

Re: Are my speeds correct for package ?

So the answer is yes - your speeds are correct for your package.

The only oddity is the Macbook only getting 178 on the 5GHz band. Could try changing channels/settings for that one.

For comparison, my Macbook Air and iPhone7 both get 220mbps on my Vivid200 wifi connection - but only when I put them onto the 5GHz network. Air gets 220 on ethernet. Sat in the same spot if I then flick them over to the 2.4GHz network, they both max out at 70-80mbps - just limitations of technology.

Re: Are my speeds correct for package ?

im assigned to channel 48 20/40 for 5ghz. Would a fixed channel be better than auto setting?

Re: Are my speeds correct for package ?

Depends.

Run a WiFi scanner like inssider or similar to see what channels are the best to use.
