Almost ZERO upload speed

Hi. I've been having a problem with my internet since last week. At several times during the day my upload speeds drop to nearly zero (I cant even upload the picture but Ookla says Ping: 10ms, Download: 95.85mbps, Upload: 0.05mbps):

Capture.JPG

As many people these days, we need a stable internet connection to work from home. Needless to say that this makes it impossible.

I have contacted customer service several times about this already but still no solution. Initially they though it was a faulty modem/hub so they sent a new one and I have the exact same problem. Then they've changed settings several times on their end but the fault stays there.

It has been over a week now. Can anyone help please?

Re: Almost ZERO upload speed

First do a quick check that all of your coax connections are in nice and "finger" tight at the Hub and wall box and at any splitters/attenuators/etc with no “unterminated loose ends, and that the internal wiring is ok with no kinking or chaffing. Also check that all looks good with the outside cabling and wall box.

Then do a 60 second Hub “pinhole reset” with the Hub "switched on" throughout – leave 10’ to stabilise.

If that’s all good.... Post up your Hub/network connection details and someone will check to see if there is a problem there. In your browser’s URL box type in http://192.168.0.1 (or http://192.168.100.1 - if in modem mode) and hit return. On the first page up [there should be no need to login if you have done so before] click on the “router status” icon at top right (SH2’s) or text at bottom-middle of first page up (Hub3) and then copy/paste 3 FULL sets of data onto here – from the Downstream, Upstream, & Network Logs pages. Don't worry too much about the formatting it can be easily read & DON’T include personal data or MAC addresses - blank them out - if you copy/paste the data, the board software will do this for you (you may need to click the "submit" button a second time).

Re: Almost ZERO upload speed

cannot see it being a loose connection but always worth checking - look at the levels as suggested

Re: Almost ZERO upload speed

Not that VM could limit lager MTU packets you could see if a lower MTU works.
Run CMD in admin
netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface "Ethernet" mtu=1400
check its changed

Re: Almost ZERO upload speed

Thanks guys.

I double checked all connections and everything is tight. Last night I also tried reseting the router (60s pressing the pin). Right now it is working as expected, the problem is that the issue comes and goes. So far this week the problem has come back every day at different times. I'll keep it under observation and if (when) it happens again I'll post the Hub/network connection details.

Re: Almost ZERO upload speed

If it's an intermittent problem then it would be worth setting up a BQM to see what happens at those times.

Re: Almost ZERO upload speed

some noise on the line and it could do with looking at but the real problem is the upstream levels they are out of spec - you need a tech to sort that

have flagged the thread to VM
