Advertised M360 download speed seems to be a lie

I'm hard wired (with a network cable) to my router and fast.com speed test is averaging between 70 & 90 Mbps download for the M360 package.

Admittedly the upload is pretty good at 34 Mbps, but d/l is not as advertised. In fact pretty much exactly the same as when I was on the "150Mbps" package.

Is d/l speed just arbitrary?

Are you measuring your speed over wifi?

Edit - Sorry didn't notice you said hard wired - Have you measured speed using other services?

No. That would only give the speed of my wifi.

I'm hard wired with a cable so that I can "get the benefit" of this fast connection.

Re: Advertised M360 download speed seems to be a lie

Hi there,

What device are you testing it on? When you say that the speeds you're receiving are pretty much the same (70mbps-90mbps) as they were when you were on the 150mb package, then chances are it could potentially be the device itself that hasn't got the capability to receive speeds higher than 90mbps. Have you tried running a speed test on any other device? I.E a mobile phone to see what kind of speeds you're receiving on this?

Regards,

Cor, a current field technician currently working from home.

I'm on the 350 package and hardwired to the router.

This is what I get from that website:

Re: Advertised M360 download speed seems to be a lie

I'm connected over a CAT6 wire directly to the router.

I'm using a MacBook Pro with a thunderbolt ethernet interface reporting a hardware link speed of 1 Gbit/s. The transfer statistics on the computer report zero packet loss.

Using an iPhone XS over wifi, I get worse connection as expected due to the limitations of wifi.

My computer hardware is up to the job. The internet connection speed is what is lacking.
