94mb on 600mb service - SAME AS OTHERS

mikelkite

It's not my cabling (data centre worker here) it's not my PC, and it is the same on any wifi devices. Everything I test has been coming up 93-94mb down but 40 up. It appears VM is throttling the down speed for some reason for a lot of people.

You have several people complaining about the speed ALL being the same 94mb down no matter what the service is, so it appears you have pushed a firmware that is faulty or have a problem with the downstream.

I have all CAT 7 cabling - tested to know they are high quality cables, so it is not them - as the WIFI devices I have are also showing 94mb down.

I have reboot the router, updated firmware's, rebooted the SH and it is still showing 94mb down.

Is Ethernet link speed showing 100Mb?

If by router mode you have two PC's connected to the hub and do a download is the speed split or each get under 100Mb?

also if you do a speed test Speedtest by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test does the download latency high?

Maybe VM have coded something in the hub firmware that no one was meant to know that a packet to the hub in router mode or modem mode can trigger a rate limit.

Speed is split across 2 machines when doing the test 100mb / 2 gettig 32 on one and 78 on the other, with 20/20 for upload

Day 2 - still only getting 94 down. This is unacceptable, I have rebooted everything - it's not even like it is at peak times as this was done just now at 10am.

So VM doesn't see this is a problem, so it is an internal issue with them doing this for a reason.

Another day - another day of NO UPDATE TO THE ISSUE

Still getting 94mb down, rebooted the router and the hub and still nothing.

Can someone from VM please address this

Can I get a response from a team member please, this is an ongoing issue which VM do not want to address. I am not alone in this issue and it is now hampering my business.

Your download latency is high so your being rate limited by Shaping Rate in the hub.

mikelkite

I can see the latency is high, the question is why has it started all of a sudden and limiting me to 100mpbs, which is the same issue that dozens of other people have been having in a thread going back from March.

This is now day 4 of this issue with no resolution in sight, it is making sharing internet almost impossible as 100MB across multiple devices is absolutely horrendous.

and what your link speed 100Mb or 1Gb on Ethernet?

If you reboot the hub and when its up and running what speed you get?
