80-100 mbps on M500

I had M500 installed about four weeks ago and I was getting 400-500+ mbps almost constantly until the last few days where most speed tests are sub 100 mbps and on rare occasion 180ish, this is with only 1 device connected via wired connection, I have tried hard reset and have swapped out cabling but no improvement.

I am running in modem mode via a TP-Link AX50 (as Hub 3 Wi-Fi was horrendous) connected using Cat 6 SF/FTP (previous cabling Cat 5e FTP but results identical)

I have tried connecting directly to the Hub 3 out of modem mode and speeds were the same.

Please see logs below, any help much appreciated.

Have not had packet loss like this until last few days ^

Most BQM look like this one with spikes only occurring when speed testing although the random packet loss is new.

Re: 80-100 mbps on M500

RS errors are a concern but may be historic. Up power levels are high but just in range and T3's are a worry.
______________________________

Switch the Hub off and unplug it for a few minutes.  Whilst it's off, do a quick check that all of your coax cable connections are in nice and "finger" tight - at the Hub and wall box and also at any connectors etc. Ensure there are no “unterminated cable loose ends. Disconnect all the connections and reconnect to be sure. Also check that the internal wiring is ok with no kinking or chaffing, check that all looks good with the outside cabling and wall box. Then switch it on again and leave 5 minutes. When done, check back in the settings and ensure that the RS error counts have all reset to 0. Then check every hour or two for the next day or two to see if they start reappearing - they shouldn't. If they do (particularly the postRS ones) you have a problem (noise) that only a Tech visit will sort.

Also, in the meantime... if you haven’t already, set up a free and secure “Broadband Quality Monitor” to continually monitor the state of your connection and record any true network dropouts , latency issues, packet drops, etc - it will thus allow you to differentiate between those and simple wifi dropouts. It does it 24/7/365 and it keeps a visual record of any/all of your network disconnections, useful data to have to match to the Network logs (in your Hub settings) and also in discussions with VM - note it will take a few hours to start seeing a sensible picture - post up the “link” to the “share live graph” (as per instructions on the TB website) when it starts to develop.

Re: 80-100 mbps on M500

Thank you John

I have BQM, there is some new packet loss the last few days but overall iv had no actual dropouts (100% loss readings are all reboots) just some high latency readings when I have been spamming speed tests which I understand is to be expected.

I am assuming this is something shown on the network logs? I've had no new errors ifso.

It certainly looked like you had an issue, however appears to have settled around 12:15am:

Your speed could be limited to some people in your area downloading test at midnight by wire with PC in safe mode with networking.
