6mbps download speed / 8mbps upload

Hi everyone, I'm getting max 6mbps download speeds frequently through the day. Upload speed is 8mbps which is expected.

At other times, I get 100mbps (on a 100mbps plan).

Any help is much appreciated, thanks!

Re: 6mbps download speed / 8mbps upload

What speeds do you get at >>  SamKnows << with a direct connection using a Cat 5E or better ethernet cable between the Hub in Router Mode and a 1Gbs capable Pc/Mac/Chromebook and no other devices connected ?

Then immediately after …

Login to the Hub Settings and navigate to the Connected Devices page - what is the reported 'connection speed’ for the ethernet cable connected device you used for the speed test ?

Re: 6mbps download speed / 8mbps upload

You've got dreadful signal to noise ratio on downstream channels 3 & 4, which would explain the poor speeds, and rather low numbers on several other channels.  I've flagged that for the forum staff to advise, so if you give it a few (working) hours they'll respond, saving you the joys of VM's telephone response.  Unless it's a known area fault, then it will probably require a technician visit to fix.
