I don't want more download there is a point where you hit where it's just a bigger number they need to make the upload far faster.

Re: 500mbps disappointed.

If you are already on Vivid 350, then V.VIP Vivid 500 is cheaper than you are paying now, even after the initial 12 months discount.

I'm now on V.VIP 500Mb, but instead of officially getting the package at the advertised rate, I have been given a loyalty discount.

Re: 500mbps disappointed.

Blimey!  Massive edit to my earlier comment today.

CS, onshore department,  just gave me a call back and said that my new service had been all set up wrongly by offshore operatives and that they needed to rebuild it and that I didn't need a loyalty discount.

The upshot of this is that I am now on V.VIP  500Mb, with limitless SIM etc for £99.00 + some phone call enhancements, all for £105 pm.!! That's a saving of about £60 pm.  The operative also suggested I ring back in 11 months, just before the £99.00 ends, to see what can be done to keep costs down. Duly noted in my diary.

The key thing is to get through to the newly set up onshore call centres where operatives are thoroughly trained in every aspect and can do 90% of all functions to do with TV, mobile, broadband and landline. They only pass you elsewhere 10% of the time. To get through to them I went for the billing option then to the option where you want to speak to a human. (08.00 - 21.00 only)  Other options may work. DO NOT try to get your new package arranged offshore! The inconsistency of training and honesty levels deplorable!

Having been more than satisfied by today's experience I did leave comments about the frustration and confusion, caused by the obstructive and robotic behaviour of some of the offshore centres and operatives. I was thanked for this and a complaint case is being generated.

If they were to make the upload 30 to 50% of the download I would have upgraded it it instantly but the only way to get more upload with them is with a leased line (£299 is far to much for 100/100) and im sure virgin can do it as the cabinet has fiber then coax to the house (im sure coax is capable of 1Gbps)

It is. The kit in the cabinets is not.

No it's not, it's more expensive. The old VIP package is £129. The new VVIP package is £139. You can't take into consideration different loyalty discounts people may or may not have.

The poster quoted saying it was cheaper even after the 12 month discount.

Re: 500mbps disappointed.

You aren't comparing like with like. Was the old VIP package inclusive of 500Mb?   The V.VIP package includes 500Mb, unlimited SIM, full house TV and V6 box x 2 all for £139, after the first year.

Since I posted about an expected loyalty discount I have been given  the whole package for £99, just because I spoke to the right person. I reckon most of the different views we are hearing from folk is because VM's left hand doesn't know what the ight hand is doing.

That's because there is no like for like package. The VVIP package is the old VIP package which you can't get no more. The issue I had is you said it's cheaper even after the 12 month discount. It isn't. VIP is £129, VVIP is £139

Re: 500mbps disappointed.

V.VIP 500Mb is cheaper, whilst being a superior product,  than my VIP Vivid 350. That is the comparison I was making.
