200mb but recently topping at 135, usually 125

Hi,

I have a superhub 3 in modem mode connected through a Netgear Nighthhawk router (sorted all my wifi issues) but recently have noticed slower download speeds so have done a couple of speedtests when home alone today so no ones hammering it with streaming or whatever and got 135mb on samknows.

I'll paste the router info below if anyone in the know could have a look at that and see if any issues stand out.

Thanks all

Did notice a few errors on Network log i'll paste at the bottom too

Re: 200mb but recently topping at 135, usually 125

Its odd - showing 5 Up channels - there should be only 4 - and error counts are high - bit may be historical - can you start from a blank sheet by doing this
________________________________________________

Switch the Hub off and unplug it from the mains supply for five minutes. Whilst it's off, do a quick check that all of your coax cable connections are in nice and "finger" tight - at the Hub and wall box and also at any connectors etc. Ensure there are no “unterminated cable loose ends. Disconnect all the connections and reconnect to be sure. Also check that the internal wiring is ok with no kinking or chaffing, check that all looks good with the outside cabling and wall box (no “staples, etc.,) piercing the cables.. Then switch the Hub back on and leave ~5 minutes

When all done, check back in the settings and ensure that the RS error counts and T3 errors have all reset to 0. Then check every hour or so to see if they start reappearing - they shouldn't. If they do (particularly the postRS ones) you have a problem (noise) that only a Tech visit will sort.

Re: 200mb but recently topping at 135, usually 125

You've also got a vast spread of downstream power levels of 6.8 dBmV.  Not a cat in hell's chance of that working reliably!

Try @jbrennand 's advice, if you're still seeing post-RS errors, T3 timeouts, or similar spread of power levels then you'll need a technician.  If you're in the Irish Republic, then I believe 5 upstream channels is a normal configuration, and forum staff can't help you because this is a VM UK forum (although we amateurs will do what we can to assist).

Re: 200mb but recently topping at 135, usually 125

Thanks both...

I didn't expect quick responses and left for work but have tomorrow of so will give the suggestions a go....

No I'm in Birmingham so not sure about the upstream channels..

No doubt it'll require a technician but hoping the full reboot will help.

Re: 200mb but recently topping at 135, usually 125

Apart from 5 Up channels (!!) stats look ok. I suspect any speed issues are likely to be down to the Router and/or devices connecting to it.

What speeds are you getting on ethernet cable connected devices?

Hi there @Beanz

Thank you so much for your post and I am so sorry to see you are facing these issues with your Hub!

I have had a look at your account on our side and I can see there are a few issues showing with the specs. For this reason I think it would be best if we arranged for an engineer to come and take a look at your equipment.

I'm going to send you a PM now so we can arrange this, please keep an eye out for the purple envelope in the top right corner of the screen alerting you to a new message received.

Thank you.
