200Mbit receiving less than 1Mbit down at peak

Ok I get that there is a National lockdown on at present but this is a slight performance hit.

back story, I am not the line owner but am currently working from home in IT in Technical Support and relient on this connection though having to work around this at present, but I can report back to them.

Checking other posts this seems to be the details you require, I am posting this at gone 3am so these results are not representive of what is received during the day.

Router has had a Wipe and a reboot which made no difference.

I live in the EX1 area

Re: 200Mbit receiving less than 1Mbit down at peak

Your Downstream Power Levels are too low.

This will need an engineer to put right.

You can either call in (08:00 is the best time) or wait on here for a few days (6 to 10 days average) until one of the VM Forum Staff comes along.

If you wait on here Do Not bump the thread it will put it further down the VM 'to do list'.

Re: 200Mbit receiving less than 1Mbit down at peak

This was helpful to know what I am looking out for, I have read between +10 and -6 but around 0 is where I would ideally want to be sitting.

But figure they have just dialled down the Speed until the SNR became stable when the owner on the line spoke to them. but since the SW got knocked out the speed now peaks at 140mbit but seems to be really lossy again, and the downsteam power is hitting the -10s now so I figure it is time for them to really get an engineer involved.

Re: 200Mbit receiving less than 1Mbit down at peak

Good morning @Adsen

Welcome to the forums and thank you once again for your post.

I am sorry to hear that you have had some issues with your broadband.

We are going to need to get an engineer round, however I have seen that you have said you are not the account holder.  Are you able to pass DPA on behalf of the account holder?

Kind regards,

Zak_M
