200 meg broadband

on going saga with 200mg broadband despite hours on the phone over the last three months trying to get my broadband sorted YOUR SIGNAL is OK, they cant tell me what speed is showing at there end!!. Supplied two, series three routers  only getting 200mg on two lan connections for a while then drops to 36 MG DOWN  WITH 2 UPLOAD THEN CHANGES TO WIRELESS SIGNAL 200MEG 21 DOWNLOAD lan connection cannot maintain a strong enough signal on any of the 4 lan ports TO run amazon ect (CAT 7 DUAL FLOW CABLES ON ALL FOUR LAN PORTS)

As far as service is concerned nothing happens, Covid 19 gets the blame, Check your logs for contacts from myself never to get a reply, service is totally crap

I know this is a total waste of time contacting you, but hopefully this will be logged and maybee

someone somewhere will get back to me

83 MEG DOWNLOAD 3.4 UPLOAD  connect to amazon drops lan connection moves to wirless 200meg 21up

Re: 200 meg broadband

Can you set up a Broadband Quality Monitor (BQM) at thinkbroadband.com - this will give you an insight into what is happening with the signal at the other side of the Hub, it will take a few hours to get any kind of trend showing although you should post the link straight away.

Post a 'Live Link' to your BQM on here.

Instructions for posting BQM Link

Under your BQM graph are two links in red.

Click the lower link (Share Live Graph) then click generate.

Copy the text in the Direct Link box, beware, there may be more text than you can see.

On here click the Link icon (2 links chain to the left of the camera icon)

In the URL box paste the link you copied and in the ‘text to display’ box write My BQM then click OK - you can post the link straight away.

Re: 200 meg broadband

Can you please

Type 192.168.0.1 (192.168.100.1 in Modem mode) into your browser URL bar and press enter.

Hub 2 & 3 When the page appears DO NOT LOG IN but click ‘Check Router Status’.

Hub 4 When the page appears LOG IN then click ‘Check Router Status’.

Copy and paste the contents of the Downstream, Upstream, Configuration and Network Log tabs onto here, if you get a yellow / straw box warning click the Post button again. Use one post for each tab if you wish.

Please do not use screen grabs.

A Guru will be along soon to decipher the info.

Re: 200 meg broadband

You did it OK for the network log, just use the same method.

Re: 200 meg broadband

@Aldomcgibbon Well done on posting the rest - there's nothing you're too old to learn!

Unfortunately the Network log shows nothing that I wouldn't expect from normal function of a cable modem on VM's network.  The "warnings" and "notices" can all be ignored, and the "critical" errors are all infrequent T3 timeouts, which most cable modems collect over time.  If the log were full of them it would be a problem, but one every day or two days isn't normally a problem.  There's a few creeping in on the upstream, but as all other indicators (power levels, SNR, modulation) are in order, we're looking for a different cause.

Hopefully the BQM will show something useful.  I suspect most of the regulars here will have the same thoughts I'm having about what the BQM might show, but I'll wait on the evidence before shooting my mouth off.
