1MB download, huge packet loss, intermittent connection in RM12 area

Been happening today, it makes my internet unusable so I'm not able to WFH - big issue. Any help would be appreciated as 1MB is simply not enough in this day and age! I'm connected via ethernet as well.

Re: 1MB download, huge packet loss, intermittent connection in RM12 area

Your download power levels are all over the place, and well out of spec, and you've only got two upload channels..  If not an area fault that'll need a technician visit to fix, VM forum staff will advise on next steps as soon as they pick up your post (can take a day or three).

Re: 1MB download, huge packet loss, intermittent connection in RM12 area

Whilst your downstream signal levels are too low your post RS error rates look ok.

However, your real problem is in the upstream with only two channels bonded and even these aren't working well.

Has this only got particularly bad today (during the day)?
Is it particularly hot where you are?
As the temperature rises the downstream levels reduce and the level the upstream has to be increased by your modem.
In your case your modem is only just managing to be 'heard' by the VM equipment at the 'exchange'.

You may find your rates improve as it cools tonight.

You'll need an engineer visit to correct those levels.

Re: 1MB download, huge packet loss, intermittent connection in RM12 area

Thanks for the insight guys. I'll track the download speeds tonight and tomorrow and see if theres a difference during the day/night as its only May and the days are only going to get hotter and sadly I've got a day job so no option to do the night shift!

If no-one from VM picks this up i'll give them a quick call to see what they say about fixing this.
