Hi
Yesterday I received all my 1GB upgrade kit after using the MyRates as part of VMO2, I was previously on the 350 package and averaged around a 370mbps down which was great.
Since moving to the 1GB my speeds have been around the 410/420mbps on cat5e ethernet. I was wondering if there is a stabilisation period or if should I be seeing higher speeds.
Regards

What does this site show?
https://samknows.com/realspeed/
On the left it tests the speed to the HUB over the VM network.
On the right is the actual download speed to the device.

Hey
The speed to my HUB 4 is 1145Mbps and the speed to my computer is 302MBps. As for Wi-Fi I get a speed of just under 800Mbps.
Perhaps there is an issue with my drivers or Cat5e cable.
Although I did have my Hub setup in Modem mode and had it connected to my Nighthawk rax120 which will give me a speed of around 420Mbps to my PC.

Although when I speedtest via Ookla, it spikes up to 700/800Mbps for a fraction of a second and drops off real quick.

The issue is more likely with the PC. Anti-virus is a killer along with other background tasks.
Try the PC in safe-mode which will not run a lot of the usual processes.
I've found Nighthawks some times need a factory reset as they seem to often kill the speed too.

You seem to be right, I've ran my PC in safe mode and I consistently get 920mbps down.
I use the standard windows security build into windows 11, could this be my issue? when not in safe mode i spike up to 800mbps then drop off to 300/400.
how do i fix this

Hey dan0401, thank you for reaching out and a warm welcome to the community, I am sorry to see you are having some issues with your speed.
I am glad you have managed to get a fix around for it, speeds can vary from each time you do a test to be honest.
However if you are getting around 800 to 900 on WIFI / cable connection you speeds are really great and this is what we expect.
You do a speed result three feet away from the router and then one in the bathroom for example each speeds would come out with a different result. Thanks
