scam call

Received a telephone call from 'Virgin Media' (ha ha)

Our internet has been hacked and someone is using it.

Sounded like an Asian Call Centre in the background.

Had my wife going for a bit then she handed phone to me.

I simply asked the caller to tell me what model router I have.

He said  " must be joking mother f****r!" and clicked off. Not language you'd expect from a Virgin employee!

The number he called from was 0122 217 xxxx

[MOD EDIT: number edited in case it's an innocent number being spoofed]

Re: scam call

The call came from India, as most scam calls to the UK do.

The number is fake, so no use reporting it. (01222 numbers were allocated to Cardiff, but the area no longer uses this code).

VM BB TV Landline PAYG mobile. Freeview/Freesat HD, Tesco Mobile. Customer since 1993
