router upgrade

Yesterday I received a cold call from an Asian man who could hardly speak English saying he was from Virgin Media and I must upgrade my router. I declined the call as I was late for an appointment. Was this call type genuine or is it nothing to do with VM?

It could be a legit VM call or a scam - both are conducted from poor quality offshore call centres.  If you're not having problems with your internet connection I'd say ignore all such calls.  There's no inherent benefits from the Hub 4 unless you're suffering "over-utilisation" problems, and there's a range of downsides.  New does not equal better.

Many thanks for your comments. I am almost 80 years old and not very tech savvy, I have a hub 3 router which does not receive sky Q upstairs well but I don;t know if a new router would solve the issue.

A HUB 4 wouldn't be worth it unless there was an oversubscription in your area, meaning slower internet speeds than expected.
