Is there any reason an onsite engineer needs the first 3 letters of our security word?
We had an appointment with an engineer who turned up and, after he finished the work, asked for the first 3 letters of the security word we use as account holder verification.
He also asked for our mobile number and said get in touch if the landline isnt working in 24 hours.

My security paranoia is wondering if maybe engineers are not entitled to that information

Thank you for your post. The characters normally isn't something they would ask for.

They can ask for the number to check in on the work at a later point.
