just had an email from virgin saying my device may have malware
i have had an email saying my device may have malware. my email address is used on 2 laptops and 1 iphone. I have scanned them an its not showing anything. also just checked my email address doesnt appear on https://haveibeenpwned.com/
as virgin says they could cut or cancel my bb im worried as both me and my wife work fom home.
i'm guessing its just linked to the 1 email addesss thats not the mail one, as none of the others got an email. what can i do?
Re: just had an email from virgin saying my device may have malware
The notification is sent to the account holder's email address; it is not an indicator of the malware source.
The email notification is sent when Virgin Media are notified, usually by a trusted a third party, of malware behaviour emerging from your home network — neither the third party nor Virgin Media are able to identify the device(s) responsible because the network traffic they capture only lists your public IP Address.
Did the email notification name the malware detected?

you would think they would need evidence before chopping my connection.
The sanction that your connection will be cut is a last resort. VM would not implement this unless they get continued alerts from their security partners of issues relating to your external IP address.
