Unpatched DNS bug affects millions of routers and IoT devices
I checked my own router and found it needed a firmware update which was a downloaded zip file that had to be unzipped and then used to update my router firmware in the settings page which I have done.
It may also affect other IOT devices connected via wifi.
I presume virgin media will have already patched this vulnability if it affected virgin hubs.
Wise to check your equipment manufacturer online to see if any firmware upgrades are available- usually in support-firmware
Some equipment has options to download firmware upgrades in settings, some may have automatic firmware updates like virgin hubs, some may require manual upgrading of firmware by downloading a file and installing like my router.
