broadband cap removed?

Has anyone received an email from 'Virgin' stating the broadband cap will be lifted due to coronavirus and people having to work from home?

Is this a scam?

I have had 2 other mails after this one saying I have now exceeded my limit and have to pay £7.50 extra.

Which ones correct please?

Re: broadband cap removed?

I have had the same email. We are on older contracts (from several years ago) which have data usage capped at say 30 GB. They have promised to take the cap off by 23th march 2020 and it still has not been actioned. I have phoned up virgin media about it and no one knows anything. Keep a copy of the email and we can dispute it later. Anyone had any joy getting their data cap removed?

Re: broadband cap removed?

Cheryl keep all your emails as proof. They will have to credit your account otherwise this is false adversiting. Virgin media if you are reading this, please sort this out now. You have promised to remove the data caps by 23rd March 2020. Please action this asap otherwise I will be making a complaint to Ofcom for false advertising.

Re: broadband cap removed?

if you are on a package old enough to have data caps maybe you should look at upgrading as well

Re: broadband cap removed?

Done all that. We are getting a very reasonable rate. To go on the newer packages, it is £10-£15 more per month.

Re: broadband cap removed?

Same here. Got the email and cap still seems to be in place. Received email saying I'm close to going over cap etc since then.

Re: broadband cap removed?

For a very insightful person that was not a helpful or insightful response.

In the year 2020 there are people who are happy with a download speed of 20meg with a 30 gig cap. I used to be on the 100meg tier without caps but wasn't making use of it and couldn't justify the cost so downgraded to the 20meg tier. I'm only with virgin for broadband and the move saved me roughly fifteen pounds per month.

Re: broadband cap removed?

then you shouldn't be with virgin you can get cheaper DSL deals.

and if you are happy why are you asking to have it removed. if you get more service everyone paying for that service should get a discount right?
