Hi all,
Hope someone could give guidance on what seems to be a common issue but with a specific twist.
We have the Hub 3 router but run a cabled Apple Airport out of it, which we use for back up of our Apple devices. We therefore use the Apple Airport wifi not the VM one.
We're wanting to remove the Airport but - as has been noted on various threads - when logging onto the VM broadband our Macs (we use for work purposes as we sometimes work from home) now tell us "weak security".
I note that various threads advise accessing the router and changing the settings. Ultimately I want to be able to run all our devices off the VM router wifi. So, I have two questions:
- Why so I need to change router settings if there isn't a security issue that Applies is advising us of anyway?
- I'm not technically proficient(!) so how on earth do I access the router to change the settings in the first place? Could I please have the Ladybird book type of answer to this please 🙂
Many thanks.

Hi Paul,
It looks like you are in modem mode since you are using Apple Airport
Login to your hub by typing 192.168.100.1 into a browser address bar.
Then enter your SSID (admin name) and password which this is printed on a sticker on the hub if you haven’t changed the password

It's just Apple being over zealous.

To deal with the 'weak security' warning when using the VM hub's wi-fi, refer here

Thanks for the reply - appreciated. However, I do need help figuring out how to access the router in the first place. Could you advise how I do that? It's not on the link you sent.
Also, why does the router need reconfiguring if there isn't a security issue?
Thanks in anticipation.
Paul.
