Unwanted sales marketing calls (apparently)

Penyx
Tuning in

I keep getting these calls from either 0800 183 6408 or 0800 183 6416 on both my mobile & landline, presumably from yourselves. The 1st time I spoke with female person & said if VM want to get in touch with me, please use my email address. It was a very bad connection so I was suspicious anyway. [I did not provide my em address needless to say]. I looked this number up on Who Calls Me, it still shows as a nuisance/fraud/possible scam number for several years now. When I go to your 'opt out of sales marketing calls', I am obliged to give a lot of details but it appears to only be for Postal Marketing. These calls are not postal, they are using my telephonics! One would think your Marketing Team would have got the message first time around about contact via email. No,had two more calls since.I am blocking them each time if they come in on slightly different numbers, but my point is, your Opt Out of Marketing website only is for opting out of postal communications, so that doesn't work for me in this instance. Also your marketing team need to wake up that 1)the line connections are often very bad & this makes them sound like scammers,  2) if someone says Not Interested, or Contact me via my email address, they should be get the message & take my numbers, both mobile & landline off the calling list. It starts to feel like harassment, which in its ultimate form, is a type of bullying.

Hi @Penyx

If you sign into My Virgin Media  then Account Settings > Marketing preferences,  you can untick the check box which stops VM contacting you via phone, text message, post and email. Be sure to scroll down and click on Save Changes. It takes up  to 28 days to take effect. This won't however prevent mailshots to "the householder"

https://www.virginmedia.com/my-virgin-media/account-settings/preferences

If you have a mobile or sim with VM then you would also have to turn of the marketing in the mobile account by logging into

 https://mobile.virginmedia.com/ecare/login

My Mobile> My Preferences > marketing

Again that takes up to 28 days to process.

Thanks for response. I checked into this for VMedia but if I untick that marketing preference box I won't get the monthly email that let's me know of upcoming stuff either on TV or other newsies, which I do like looking at. Same for the VMmobile phone mktg preferences, it's either all or nothing, so it looks like I may still get hassled.

Hi again @Penyx

You could always bookmark https://www.virginmedia.com/virgin-tv-edit

and do the same with the VMO2 press release/news page  https://news.virginmediao2.co.uk/

If you are wanting to look at VM or O2 phones/sims then use an incognito window.

OK, done that (bookmarked those pages) but I think I will keep the marketing preference just for the time being as the emails are handy reminders, whereas I might forget to check the bookmarks. However, if I keep getting those nuisance calls, I will then do the bigger change. Many thanks for your assistance.
