Hi I upgraded my package last week, and was told I needed to have an engineer visit and an installation fee!! Tried to argue I didn't need an engineer but was told one was coming on 4 February.  Then on 29 January I got a text from the number above saying the engineer won't be coming and equipment is being sent for self install, which is what I wanted initially.

Is this a real virgin number, as I have heard nothing else about cancellation of the appointment or delivery details?

I can't get answers from the website, there is no web live chat option, and I can't keep waiting for hours waiting for the call centre

I just need to know if the number/text is legitimate.

Many thanks and happy Saturday!

If you have an appointment booked it will show up on your My Virgin Media page when signed in with the primary username.

Thanks for replying to my query.  I checked and it said an engineer is still coming out; I wish it wasn’t as I have to clear and move a large bookcase  for him to access the cable box!!  I still don’t know if the text message was legitimate though, and if it is scam how they knew exact details of when the engineer was going to call.
