My elderly grandmother received a call early this morning from 07455862620 claiming to be from Virgin and telling her that her router is broken so her computer won't work properly. They didn't offer her anymore information nor did they confirm who she is before trying to get her to log into her Tablet to "fix it"
Obviously this has confused and worried her and it doesn't sound like normal practice particularly from a mobile number. Is this something Virgin would normally do?
Scam. 100 per cent. VM would never phone like this. The would communicate by email or letter if there is a problem with the account. The number will have been spoofed. Warn her she'll get more because she inadvertently responded. Just put the phone on any numbers she doesn't recognise.
