Hi. I have a Superhub 2ac Hub. Does anyone know if Virgin Media updates the software automatically ? or if I can update it manually with Virgin Media.
If the software isn't updated , as this Superhub 2ac I have from Virgin Media is a Netgear router, should I try to update the software from the Netgear website ?
Grateful for any advice. Thanks 😃👍
I can't imagine VM update the software on older HUBs.
The latest HUB is the HUB 3.
Regardless of what Carl imagines, if there are firmware updates available from VM they will automatically be uploaded to your Super Hub.
You should not be able to find any third party downloads of the firmware as it is a closed system as far as I understand.
If you post your current Firmware version shown in the Superhub GUI Community members should be able to tell you if you are on the latest version.
My SH2 AC is no longer active as it doesn't support the 350mbps package, so I can't check the current firmware version.
I'm a Very Insightful Person, I'm here to share knowledge, I don't work for Virgin Media, I'm a VM customer. There are no guarantees that my advice will work. Learn more

I should have been clearer.
VM won't be maintaining the older HUBs with NEW software updates.

Any evidence from VM to support that assertion would be helpful.
I don't, however I'll be happy to be corrected by VM.

My superhub shows the following:

Yup better to use the SH1 in modem mode.
BQM, Test for outgoing ports and SSL/L2TP VPN test
As previously said the 2ac is now 5 years old and has been superseded by the 3 and 4. I cant see them spending time and money updating software on obsolete equipment. Even though it is probably one of the more reliable hubs for Wi-Fi.
