Ive received an email from

email@em.virginmedia.com that Ive been chosen to try their new intelligent wifi pods 14days free then keep it. It looks genuine apart from the letters (em.) virginmedia. Anyone help?

Re: Scam email?

Yes. It was genuine. The offer is now closed - oversubscribed.

As HowardML has said there was a genuine offer to customers who had expressed an interest in trialing a new system.  However, there was nothing in the genuine invitation about '14 days free then keep it'.

So, if you received an unexpected email along those lines then maybe the scammers are already on the case and sending out spoof emails.
