I was called today from 0168*******

Claimed to be from virgin media and that I was emitting viruses from my router.

It sounded scam like so I shut the call down and told Id call back on the usual number.

Can anyone convince me it was legit?

Nope, you are correct, it was a scam call. VM do not make unsolicited tech support calls like this.

It is always good to be wary of calls like this as we do not make outbound technical calls like this. I have been able to take a look at our systems and cannot see any outbound calls that have been made to you recently, but I can see that you have been in touch to report this call to us already.
