Retentions call back scam??

Cancelled my package last week and a couple of days later get a call from 07412560764 about building a relationship and finding me a deal. Seemed to know all my details, didn't ask and personal questions.

Said he could do a deal that was cheaper than im paying, so I said ok. Then get an email this morning saying my new deal was £10 more a month than he said so I've cancelled again!

Is this number official?

Re: Retentions call back scam??

you can't EVER trust numbers on caller ID. they are easy to spoof.

Re: Retentions call back scam??

This is the one set of circumstances where the call you got was probably not a scam. VM will often ring sometime after a cancellation to try and entice you back. Since most staff are working from home they will be using their own mobiles which should have had the caller ID changed to VM's usual number 0345 454 1111. This hasn't happened in all cases.

So you were right to be wary, but you don't need now to be concerned.
