Pop-up allegedly from Virgin Media re winning a prize draw

Is anybody receiving pop-ups saying something like "Congratulations Virgin Media Limited User! You have been randomly selected for a guaranteed prize if you answer the following questions...…."

I ignore it and exit out, but it closes the website I'm on, then appears again a few minutes later.  I've carried out a scan which has found nothing, but can't help worrying.  And will it "go away"?

its not from VM - its a scam - either malware or a virus usually or it may just be the site you are on if its only one site - malwarebytes is pretty good at finding such things

Re: Pop-up allegedly from Virgin Media re winning a prize draw

Scam certainly.
Your browser is possible infected, close the Popup if possible & close the webpage the Popup appeared on & close the browser, open task manager, find the browser’s entry & choose end.
If you have CCleaner or another browser cleaning software then run the browser cleanup, if you haven’t then open the browser & clean out Cookies, history & cache. This should fix it.
