Phishing Attempt?

This is for info only; not requesting help.

Today (4 Jul 23) approx 10:30 am, I had a phone call on my Virgin Landline.

Caller claimed to be from Virgin Media, and mentioned there had been suspicious traffic through my router.  Then started asking questions about my router password.

When I mentioned I had an MSc in Cyber Security, they hung up abruptly.

You have described the typical opening lines of a scammer attempting to try a 'tech support' scam. It is mentioned regularly on here.

Hi @sunbathingbear 👋.

I can confirm that is not Virgin Media. We have heard this line many times said to our customers by scammers, please feel free to block the number and do not engage in the exchange of any personal details.

This will help 👉 Scammers.
