Hello

When a website is blocked as not safe it is due to the way the website has set it certification, if the site decides to say it is only suitable for over 18's then it will be block by the child safe, you can add the website on the allowed list.

If you think it should be allowed you can request it at https://my.virginmedia.com/my-apps/websafe/feedback

Send an email to websafefeedback@virginmedia.co.uk with all of the relevant details.

Virgin Media should then review their block and advise.

I've emailed them. It's unlikely they will reply

I used to have VM  with them before and in my experience they should outsource services like these.

A check here:

https://www.blocked.org.uk/site/http://reviewedcompanies.com

Suggests that Talk Talk don't think your site is safe for kids either, although it doesn't think VM is blocking it.  One of the categories listed on the Talk Talk filter is "Dating" sites.  A quick look on your site shows at least one dating site listed on your site, so that could be the trigger.

...Not even a reply

meanwhile if you are  a parent and you've been thinking Virgin are protecting your kids from porn, please try this

In reddit there  are all sorts of sub redits - some of them have  millions of active users

Now think of any  pornish keyword or term and types it after reddit.com/r/

This is probably the biggest repository of porn on the internet, nowadays, but don't you worry Virgin are a Good technology company - it's just the software they are using a legacy one made in 2000 and they keep showing it  in their sale packages.

When did you email them?  By my reckoning it has only been two working days.  Have Talk Talk got back to you about their block?

A check on the blocked.org site shows that apparently only BT's strict filter blocks Reddit so most UK ISPs are equally guilty by your standards.

Re: How this website is not safe for kids ?

Thank you Scott,

They've just unblocked the website few hrs ago

As for Reddit as  whole website it's too big to block and there are lot of  good content - way better than Facebook

But a good filter should sniff  when  a subreddit  has to do with porn.
