Hi
I received the email telling me to set up my F-secure AV as part of my HomeWorks package. When I followed the link it enabled me to set up an account but the second screen asks for an activation code which I do not have. I have spent two days talking to Virgin Media, HomeWorks and F-secure help desks but they have all failed to resolve this issue. Only one person has called back as promised and then they could not help.
So, is this HomeWorks F-secure package just a scam?
It should be really easy to just click a link and go, but I have spent over seven hours on the phone to people with no success.
Can anyone please help!
Thanks

UPDATE - my latest VirginMedia operative has said that I have to pay extra for F-secure and it is not included in my HomeWorks package! Here is the screenshot of the email VirginMedia sent me -
As you can see it states that F-secure is included in my HomeWorks package, not that I have to pay extra for it!
Does anyone have any idea how this is supposed to work??
Thanks . . . .

UPDATE 2: The last operative promised to call back within two hours with an update on the state of my account and how I can access it. That time has now passed and no call, so not very satisfactory really . . . . .

Now received the call back and they have confirmed that F-secure is not included in HomeWorks, just a discount. So I am supposed to pay £3 per month for it.
I have to say this is not what I expected from VirginMedia given the wording in the email statement that said 'it's included as part of your HomeWorks package'.
Does anyone in the VirginMedia team on here have a comment or answer on this?

Except, as you rightly say the wording of the contacts does imply that Homework’s is included and hence should work without further payment. This would, I feel put VM in breach of Statute Law regarding mis-selling. However think vey carefully about what you are getting for the extra cost of the ‘Homeworks’ package, F-Secure isn’t a bad product but is it any better than Windows Defender, which is installed as a free part of Windows? There are cheap or free alternatives for MacOS or Android, iOS on Apple devices is an odd one, because of the way they work, there are NO functional anti-virus programmes for them.
Next day engineer visit? Check the small print first won’t you? And what else is there, oh ‘Gadget Rescue’, OK least said about that the better!

Hi
Thanks for replying. The link still says that F-secure is included in Homeworks, not that I have to pay extra for it.
Can you confirm that F-secure is not included and is a charged add on? Or should it be included and therefore not chargeable?
Thanks
John

You should be able to add upto 5 devices with HomeWorks JohnWin without any additional charges.
Have you tried to register through signing in through MyVM?
Let us know,

Hi
That was my view too but when I tried to register through MyVM it states that I will be charged £3 per month or £30 per year. There is no visible option where it shows that it is included in HomeWorks.
Here is the first screen shot -
And when I click on that it takes me to here -
It does not recognise that I have HomeWorks for some reason?
Can you help?
Thanks
John
