So I received a text message earlier today which says this:
“We have faiIed to pre authorise your monthIy payment. Please update your biIIing detaiIs using the foIIowing form: https://virgin.media-identity.com/”
It came under the usual Virginmedia name on my phone that all other messages come from but something just seems odd about it as it asked for a lot of information about me and bank details.
Yes it is clearly a phishing attempt. The url in the link is definitely not a genuine virginmedia one and they would not contact you in that way for account issues in any case.
