GDPR and the community forum

Hi there,

Can someone point to me where I can find information regarding the community forum accounts and how I could, for example submit a subject access request or ask for personal/account data to be removed?

Everything seems to just refer to the main virgin media accounts but this uses a separate login, so is a separate system? I can't seem to find it, but it could well be obvious and I'm just missing it.

Thank you.

If you just want to delete the community account and remove associated personal information then:

  • select your Profile image (locate top right), then Edit profile, Close account under Profile tab

Otherwise either wait for the forum team to respond to your post or:

If there is a particular topic/post you want removing because it contains personal info, you can use the 'Flag for a moderator' link to the LHS of the post and ask a mod to remove any personal info on display.

If you are wanting to see what info is stored on the forum and linked to your forum name ...

If you login and choose to 'Edit profile' from your login name dropdown at the top, you can then choose 'Personal information' from the menu bar on the LHS.

Scroll to the bottom of that page and you will see download options for 'My community content' and 'My personal information' which allow you to download JSON files for same.

Hi paulc010,

Thanks for your post and welcome back to the community.

Just to follow up on the advice given, is the complete account that you'd like closing or is there a particular thread etc?

Let us know,
