Fraudlent account set up in my name

A virgin media account has been set up in my old name at my old address and is showing in my credit file from 10/12/2022. This has not been set up by me as I haven't lived there for 6 years and have been married for 8 years! I have called the call centre twice and been waiting for 3 days for a call back from fraud team. I need this account deactivated and removed from my credit file. Moreover virgin media set this new account up without even doing a credit search. Can someone advise me how I can call the fraud team directly as the call centre people don't have a clue

Check your bank a/c and payment cards to ensure you are not also paying for this a/c.

  1. Thanks, I've called the bank and nothing so far but I'll be checking regularly

Hi there @AileenB77

Thank you so much for your post and welcome to the community forums, it's great to have you here.

I am so sorry to hear that you have faced this issue regarding a fraudulent account, I'd be happy to pop you a PM so we can take a closer look into this.

Please keep an eye out for the purple envelope in the top right corner of your screen alerting you to a new message.

Thank you.

Still no contact from virgin media regarding this fraudulent account. They respond to Experian contacting them and have refused to remove the account without contact from myself. Impossible to contact them so account is still active. Totally shocking customer service 🤯🤯

Hi @AileenB77,

I am incredibly sorry to hear of your experience. From the earlier posts in this thread, I can see that my colleague mentioned discussing this further with you via private message. If you haven't done so already, please respond to them there and they'll be able to investigate and assist you further.

Thanks,
