Re: Failed payment scam

Hi Silvercat33,

Thanks for letting us know.

You can check if we are aware of any dodgy emails/ texts/ letters by looking here: Security Matters

All scam notifications are posted there.

If you check there and there is nothing about what you've received then it can be reported via this link here: Net Report

Hope that helps.

Thanks,

Re: Failed payment scam

Hello,

Just received an email yesterday

The payment for your latest VirginMedia bill failed. It appears that some of the billing details associated with your account have expired. Saying my account would be disconnected on the 30th, i.e. tomorrow.

If I hover over the link it points to a site khruy.org.

Regards

Marc

Re: Failed payment scam

Hi All,

Also got one this morning,

billing.jpg

Didn't feel right and all payments have gone out correctly.

Did quick search & deleted the email.

Re: Failed payment scam

If it was addressed to you and not your email address then it would look more authentic.

I’ve had one too but a) they used the wrong email address for my account and b) if it was real they’d have used Dear and my name so jumped out as spam straight away.

Re: Failed payment scam

My wife got this email on 20th, she clicked on the link but did not go any further than that. She did this on her phone and not on the computer, I assume that Google had the password saved.

This morning she received a further spam email quoting her password for the virgin account, asking for $7000 staying that someone installed malware on a adult website, which has installed a keylogger on our pc.

These must be linked..

Trying to change password now.

Re: Failed payment scam

I’ve just had this email tonight. Exact same format. Also had x 2 recent calls to my landline saying my router is not secure and to give the caller details. Phone VM and they confirmed it’s a scam.
