Email cancellation

My wife’s old virgin media email account is still active even though we haven’t been virgin media customers for around 18 months. The email this week has been hacked and they are using it to gain access to accounts that she hadn’t realised were still using the old email. How can we cancel and delete the email address so that it can’t be used anymore?

I have exactly the same issue.

No longer have a Virgin media account. 
My email is still active and been hacked and sent a blackmail email.

I am unable to log in to change password or cancel account.

I have been all round the houses trying to get this sorted.

I need this actioned ASAP
