Call from Germany

I am presuming that Virgin media do NOT call from Germany. Had phone call from a German based number claiming there was a problem with my broadband. I did not believe them.

You are correct. You received a scam call using a fake caller ID.

Anyone claiming to be from VM and calling because they have 'detected problems with your broadband', 'hackers accessing your router' etc. etc. is a scammer. VM do not make outbound, unsolicited tech support calls in this way.
