So I called Virgin support tuesday for support, an engineer was arranged who attended today and fixed problem.
This afternoon I get a call from "virgin broadband backroom team" to complete the work. I said it was done but she was insistent. She asked me to switch off router.
At this point I said I'd do some security checks with her and I asked her to confirm my virginmedia email address - she said hang on one moment and then hung up!
So how was the link made between me calling support on my mobile and this call????
Caller number was 0121 522 9294
How do I make Virginmedia aware of this - can't see any options on support pages ?
ps - I can't remember last time I got a bogus call on my mobile - a number I've been using for 10+ years.
Thanks for getting in touch and letting us know, sounds like may have been targeted by a phishing call, I've reported this for further investigation.
