how hard is it to install this new hub considering the present one was installed by a virgin tech.

If you have an existing Hub, just unscrew the co-ax cable from the back of it, and screw it onto the new Hub 5. Replace the old Hub power supply with the new Hub 5 one and you should be good to go.
You might need to get the Hub 5 activated, so call the equipment activation number. It's 0800 953 9500 and you will need the Hub serial number/MAC address from the barcode sticker, and your account number.
