extending coax cable

seems a waste to pay and use up valuable engineer time just to plug in a longer cable. Happy to buy through virgin as appreciate all kit is happy if 100% compatible. Does the engineer actually need to be present to plug it in? Are there other settings he needs to check? looking to extend from 5 m to 10m thanks

Re: extending coax cable

Hi this is not a D.I.Y thing virgin use special cable, not on sale or supplied to the public, youwill need an engineer to do this as a longer cable will affect signal levels which only an engineer can adjust between your box and the street cabinet, as non fault issue this will incur a £99 cost.Regards Micky

Re: extending coax cable

Hi jeggy25

Thanks for your posts

I am able to book the engineer to come out if you still wish to go ahead with this

There will be a £99 call out fee though

Just wanted to make that clear

I have sent a private message just incase
