broadband connection in new house

Hi,

I will be moving to a new house soon.  I have been told that my existing house connection will be disconnected before my new address can be connected. This will cause me problems as i will not be fully moving into my new house for about 6 weeks as will be just living there at weekends whilst i am renovating. I don mind paying two separate bills for both houses as i will need broadband in both houses temporarily. I want to know if i took a new package out for the new house. will i be able to cancel the existing contract without any penalties once I move out of my existing house?  Surely i cant be expected to pay a penalty charge for cancelling my existing contract as I have taken out a new virgin  contract for the new house.  This is the only way i can have broad band in both houses?
