Wiring

Hi all, we are current virgin media customers. We have some old wiring coming from the external box, which is dangerously loose and needs removing. I have tried to call customer services to get this sorted, with no success. Please can someone suggest the best way to get this sorted? Thanks

Re: Wiring

they are not doing non essential work at this time but if its dangerous and a health and safety risk then they will come out so wait for VM to get to the thread and see what they can do

a photo would be useful

Re: Wiring

In high winds it is hitting the house constantly and as half our house is covered in tiles, We are concerned that it could damage the tiles, worse still, a tile could fall on someone. We have small children.

Re: Wiring

wait for VM - it must be old as they would not do that today afaik - nothing above 1st floor and that looks higher - where does it after the tiles

how is it connected in the external box - you say 'old wiring' is it no longer used - if not you might be better or quicker removing it yourself - if is no longer used but connected to a splitter in the external box you need a termination cap

but lets see what VM say

Re: Wiring

Are you sure it’s VM cable because they will not enter lofts to put in cable or equipment.

they would 20 years ago before H & S got in the way - they would also go under floors - things have changed - not always for the best
