Hello,I have just had an engineer visit to install my new faceplate to enable me to have virgin media broadband in my home. I'm now unsure whether I still need an engineer visit to set up the router or whether I can do quickstart? I've attached photos of the sockets and faceplate that are now in my living room
and one photo of the socket that is labelled BT and sits in my cupboard.
Is this all I need to do quickstart? Or do I need an engineer visit please?
Do you already have an order? How did a tech attend if not? Sorry I am a little confused as to which engineer attended because we would normally complete the order for you.
Here to help! I'm an install manager helping out whilst working from home. Find out more
Yes I placed an order and have signed up for broadband. I thought I'd need an engineer visit and not be able to use quick start so booked this in. But now unsure if this is needed?
The engineer that visited simply changed the faceplate?
Thanks for your help
thank you, it takes a little while for images to be approved, I have sent you a private message if you would like a faster response.
Apologies, I had not realised that photos required approval! I think they have now been approved? So you can see what I have available in my living room in the top three photos, and the BT openreach socket in the bottom photo sits in my hallway cupboard.
Good Morning @LSackshaft.
I am unsure if John has responded to you yet but I thought I would try and give you a little context if he hasn't.
When you join us here at Vrigin Media, we use our own fiber cables known as DOCSIS.
The sockets that you currently have are not compatible with Virgin Media and there for you would need an engineer to install the socket.
