Wall socket plug won't work with cable

The wall socket plug has an existing cable attached to it, and if I remove the connector, both ends are male. Can I use the existing connector to try and jam on the new cable?

Yes you can use the old connector, that small metal piece with the screw threads joining the two cables together... screw it back onto the wall socket and push the new cable into this connector... the thin pin in the middle should push straight into the connector. The new cable they've sent you is a push fit type not a screw type but it should push into the old connector just fine.

as above - the new cable they sent you is an isolator cable so all you need is there - there should have been an isolator in the boax and it should have had a cover

if you want a neater job then book a tech who should sort things out - that will be needed anyway if the connection does not work - you and VM will only know that when you connect everything up - at the point of order all VM know is there has been an install there in the past - they do not know if it still works
