Me and my partner are about to move into a new flat in Bristol, and we're a bit shocked at the available internet speeds for the property.
Virgin are saying they won't install and BT Openreach is saying we can expect maximum speeds of 6Mbps - the frustrating thing is that some of our neighbours who live only a few metres away already have Virgin but apparently it does not extend to our particular flat (and some of our other neighbours).
Is there any way to resolve to this?

Is your new property in a purpose-built block of flats or a flat conversion of some kind?
Former could possibly have some kind of central/internal distribution system for the cabling. Latter might be external connections to individual properties.
VM has all sorts of reasons for not connecting individual properties. Reasons include things like access agreements, wayleave etc. Some properties which have been cabled in the past can now be deemed unserviceable if they have cables which are difficult to access (such as over roofs).
You could also try asking some of the neighbours with VM how they have been connected (via some kind of central means or on an individual basis). You could also try asking some of the neighbours who have not been connected if they have been given any reasons for refusal by VM. Extracting info. and action from VM can often be tricky. Any info. you can gain yourself will also probably be useful in helping work out your likelihood of getting connected to VM.
One of the VM forum team will reply here within a few days and may be able to assist or investigate for you.

Hi bennershrj
Thanks for posting and welcome to the community.
You say we've advised we won't install - have we advised why?
Best,

Hi John,
No, I've not been able to get any information at all - what's the best way to go about getting that? Getting in contact with a real person at Virgin is harder than I imagined.
Thanks,
Henry
